Lightweight glass.
Everyday decisions.

Vitrelle is triple-layer glass. It is designed to resist chips, but it can still break.

Storage
Thin profiles stack neatly. Measure the plate diameter against your cupboard.
Handling
Choose for a lighter feel. Do not treat chip resistance as an unbreakable guarantee.
Mugs
Read the base and packaging. Porcelain or stoneware mugs follow their own instructions.

Care starts with the exact piece.

Before

Quick answers to common questions, so you can choose the right Corelle for your home.

Is Corelle glass or ceramic?

The Vitrelle plates and bowls compared here are made from layered glass. Corelle also sells other materials, and mugs may be porcelain or stoneware. Check the exact product and its base markings rather than assuming every Corelle item is Vitrelle.

What does an 18-piece set include?

The two 18-piece sets above each have six dinner plates, six appetizer plates and six cereal bowls. They do not include mugs or serving pieces. Different bundles can have different contents; compare the SKU and the retailer’s item list.

Is Corelle unbreakable?

No. Chip resistance does not mean unbreakable. Corelle’s instructions explain that impacts and sudden temperature changes can damage dinnerware. Stop using pieces that are chipped, cracked or severely scratched.

Can Corelle go in the microwave?

Corelle permits reheating with the glass dinnerware described in its use-and-care instructions, subject to those instructions. Do not heat empty pieces, use a microwave browning element or assume an unknown vintage piece has the same guidance. Check the exact item before use.
